WEEKLY SUBJECTS

For clubs that meet on a regular basis, you may want to consider a subject-based theme for the overall program. At each meeting your group can explore a paranormal subject and discuss the popular ideas and claims that surround it along with the science and skeptical perspectives. Activities, investigations and experiments can be organized for each subject explored. Quizzes, projects and other assignments can also be included at each meeting. Handouts and additional materials can be created for group members to pursue the subject further on their own.

A subject-based theme can also be used for all of the other types of extracurricular programs listed here. This theme can also be the focus of course curricula and classroom activity.

Here we will provide a sample list of subjects that are worth exploring and that are popular today - especially among young people. For the subjects that include links to separate pages, we will begin collecting activities and a variety of the above material that can be used in your programs.

For additional material, also see other areas of the site - the Library & Research Center provides resources for a long list of subjects, the Educational Resource Area may include classroom material and instructional units for many topics included here and the Skeptic Fair Area, the Skeptic's Toolbox and the Activities Section (among others) will also be developing material that may be useful for this activity.
