Image DJ VU
The term dj vu is French and means, literally, "already seen." We can find ourselves in new situations and experiences throughout our lives. Some of those may seem familiar to us - as if a part of our past is being replayed. The familiarity of any given experience is what produces the feeling of dj vu. Some believe that the popular feeling of dj vu is evidence that reincarnation is true and that the feeling is in fact a remembrance of a past life experience. Psychologists and modern-day science, however, considers the phenomena to have a neurological basis. Our memory banks contain memories that may have similar elements to new experiences and situations we find ourselves in. Associations can be made by our brain when these similar situations arise thereby giving us a sense of familiarity.
