Image AMULETS
Amulets are charms that are often worn as jewelry but that are believed to hold "special powers" based on the substance from which they are made. Amulets may include inscriptions of magical characters or are sculpted in the shape of a specific object that is thought to be able to attract the help of supernatural spirits and deities and the powers they possess. Amulets were popular in ancient Egypt where the scarab became a common amulet worn or carried to protect from evil and bad luck. Different kinds of amulets exist such as the "fertility amulet" that is worn and thought to increase the likelihood of pregnancy, the "healing amulet" used to protect people from illness or to help cure an injury or disease.
