Image ABRACADABRA
Abracadabra is a word often heared at magic shows to signal the moment that magic enters the "trick" and produces the desired result. The word originates in the ancient civilization of Assyria. To the Assyrians, Abracadabra was the supreme deity, called upon by mortal human beings for help in day-to-day affairs. The word was later adopted as a magical symbol and included on amulets, often in a triangular formation:

As with many charms, amulets, potions and good luck catchphrases, abracadabra was thought to ward off evil and/or attract good luck. The amount of good or bad luck a person experiences in a specific time period when using the items listed above, however, does not differ from what is expected by chance when calculated by using probability theory.
