Activities

In the Exploring Imaginary Worlds site, people of all ages will find activities, investigations and fun and games for the magical places of fiction. Included in the features are Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, the Teletubbies and more!
A variety of contests have been organized for young people. The contests take place throughout the year. Interested participants are invited to send in entries and have their work featured here on the Young Skeptics web site. They may also win prizes!
At present we are featuring an investigative program for young people called "Tame the Wilds of Cyberspace." By surfing the internet and exploring the many claims and phenomena that are encountered in the virtual world, participants will develop useful investigative skills.
A variety of events are showcased in the Events Section - Darwin Day, the Superstition Bash, Halloween Hoopla, "Skeptic" theme parties and more.
Much like the Exploring Imaginary Worlds project, the travel adventures section hopes to grow to include fun and worthwhile material on all of the wonderful places in the world that have at one time or another been associated with paranormal claims. Young people are invited to help us build this area and also surf through the interesting pages already created.
Currently we are creating online scavenger hunts that focus on the basic principles of critical thinking, the process of science, and general skepticism. Other scavenger hunts being developed will explore particular subjects and also be developed as activities that can be organized within the community.
In the fun and games section you will find a variety of activities and links that are both entertaining and educational. We hope to add to this section significantly in the future.
A future activity of the Young Skeptics Program, and in coordination with skeptical investigation materials, Reality Check will provide a guide to help young people navigate through the information and phenomena they encounter on a daily basis - helping to develop the critical thinking skills to separate the good from the bad and the bogus.
More activity suggestions and program material can be found throughout the Young Skeptics web site!
