EDUCATIONAL MATERIAL:
University Department & Faculty Support
CSICOP Fellows and Academic Advisors include several college and university faculty currently teaching classes in skeptical inquiry and science vs. pseudoscience. The Educational Resource Area is compiling the syllabi and course material in use and developing further resources for teachers and classroom instruction. This material can then be sent both electronically and in printed form to educational professionals and decision-makers as part of the CSICOP educational outreach initiative program currently underway. With your help we can work with college and university departments, faculty and administrators in increasing the courses being taught on subjects falling under the scope of science, skepticism and critical thinking and work to make this instruction a common part of a student's academic career.

Skeptical Inquirer Education Packages
Skeptical Inquirer magazine and other CSICOP publications are already in use in the classroom. Educators have requested that further efforts be made to create material and resources that employ the articles explored in these publications and provide teachers and students with guides that allow further study and research to be conducted. Teacher's Guides to accompany specific packages of Skeptical Inquirer are in development, with material being created for different age levels and topics. With your help we can make the Skeptical Inquirer Education Packages and Teacher's Guides available to a diverse group of educators in elementary, secondary and post-secondary schools.

Lesson Plans & Other Curricula & Supplemental Materials
Lesson plans and instructional units for the large array of subject matter explored through skepticism and critical inquiry offer teachers a set of valuable resources to use in the classroom. With the help of faculty advisors and other educational professionals, CSICOP would like to develop a series of lesson plans for different age levels and topics, as well as additional material that can be used in the classroom and for many subjects offered by academic institutions. Your financial support will allow CSICOP to create these materials and distribute them widely among educators.

Activity & Event Kits
The Young Skeptics Activity Area and Events Section include online materials and resources for a variety of educational programs that can be incorporated in community outlets. Exploring Imaginary Worlds, Mythology and the CSICOP Activity Series provide fun and educational activities for parents and teachers. Darwin Day, Halloween and the New Year Reality Revival are among the events that provide educators with platforms for the promotion of science, skepticism and critical inquiry. CSICOP would like to develop printed material and activity kits that would feature these materials and distribute them widely among schools and community groups. Your financial help will allow us to develop these materials further and distribute them widely in relevant outlets within society.

EXTRACURRICULAR MATERIAL:
Program Material & Resources for Community Clubs, Camps & Other Outlets
Local groups and professionals throughout North America and in other areas of the world, are interested in developing extracurricular programs in their communities. There are a vast number of opportunities for extracurricular programs, many of which we have begun to develop here. With your help we can increase our efforts on this front and supply interested individuals and groups with the program material and resources to champion science, skepticism and critical inquiry in their local areas. By building relationships with other community outlets such as camps and youth groups, we are confident this effort will increase awareness and understanding of science and skepticism.

Skeptic Detectives Handbooks & Investigations
The Skeptic Detectives Club is one of several projects that have been launched and that has received encouraging and positive feedback from teachers and parents worldwide. The CSICOP Young Skeptics Program has been developing a series of online activities and investigations that can be used by educators, family members and students. We would like to develop these programs further by providing real world resources - field trips, investigative tools, handbooks for both general skeptical investigations and specific ones - and to begin coordinating the Skeptic Detectives Clubs in communities everywhere.

PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL:
Young Skeptics Introductory Packages
The Young Skeptics Program has several target audiences it would like to reach. Along with the diverse group of educational outlets found within society, it is also appealing to science outlets such as museums, community centers and other programs, parents and family members and local community groups and professionals that may be interested in our programming and development. Young Skeptics Bookmarks & Postcards
As with our educational pamphlet series, the Young Skeptics Bookmarks and Postcards are useful tools that provide the initial spark that leads to a lifetime of learning. Bookmarks and postcards will feature popular topics that are explored by skeptics and science-enthusiasts and will be available at bookstores, learning centers, museums and other relevant outlets. Your help in this particular development will enable us to produce these items and have them available at conferences, conventions and other programs we are becoming involved with.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Publications
Included in the material and resources that are being developed for the Young Skeptics Program are several publication opportunities. Exploring Imaginary Worlds, for instance, is a book idea we are interested in pursuing. The Family "Ings" Program is also an activity book series in consideration. CSICOP has already initiated the publication process with its compilations of articles from Skeptical Inquirer magazine. Your financial contribution will help us to increase our available materials and continue building the skeptical libraries further.

Displays & Exhibits
CSICOP has initiated discussion with museums and science centers across North America about opportunities available to present exhibits in pseudoscience and floor displays that promote skepticism and critical inquiry in their institutions. To develop effective exhibits and hands-on material, great care and expense is needed. Your contributions in this effort will greatly enhance our ability to meet this challenge.

Products & Merchandise
Overlapping with much of the above are many possibilities for products and merchandise that can be sold in stores commonly found in malls and shopping outlets. Trivia games, science kits, skeptic detective activity books and much more have been discussed. Your financial contribution towards this specific project will allow us great success in this realm.

Internet Marketing & Operational Fees
Developing the Young Skeptics Program as a web-based project has allowed us to reduce the risk of heavy expenses and has allowed us to progress much further in a short amount of time. Our work is not without expense, however, and because of the great amount of information (often anti-skeptical) already available on the Internet, we are looking at effective marketing tools that are available. The high-quality educational material and other work we hope to do in the future will also cost money. Your financial contribution in this area will help us to do more and improve the program on all fronts.
