EXPERIMENT
Different
Voices & Sounds:
Our
voices change as we grow and we may develop speech impediments.
When we talk, the person we're talking to may not understand
exactly what we're saying but tries to get the main points
anyway. Regional accents also present difficulties in our
understanding of one another. In an opposite way, we often
hear noises in nature, like the wind blowing or the birds
chirping and they sound like certain words we may be familiar
with.
By
putting a large marshmallow in your mouth and talking to a
friend you can show how it's often difficult to understand
voices we're not familiar with. Also, by watching foreign
television shows or even talking with people that grew up
in different areas of your own country, you will see that
the accents we have can affect how well we hear and understand
others.
